About Camp Venture

Camp Venture exists so middle school students can catch a glimpse of what God is doing in the world with the Great Commission and learn how they can play a part. We do this through immersive situational storytelling to engage students and inspire them to take ownership of their faith, emphasizing both personal action and dependence on God.

What it looks like

Students attend a camp up in the Sierra Nevada where, from the moment they drive onto the campus, they interact with a fictional foreign mission setting. Throughout their time, they encounter actors portraying missionaries and Christian non-profits using hands-on activities to help students grasp the realities of some missions work.

The Story and the Game Nov. 2024

Students encountered a country on the edge of authoritarian control. With government forces in the fictional country of Erod becoming more hostile to outsiders, this was the last foreseeable chance to plant a missionary in the country and support some non-profits.

Over the course of the weekend, students met with three different non-profits, worked to establish a missionary in-country, practiced sharing their testimony, learned about the Great Commission from a whole new perspective, and got a taste of persecution faced by many of our brothers and sisters throughout the world.
